The Baja Mexico Backroads Tour is an amazing weather-guaranteed one-week loop of Baja California, and featuring the best on-and-off-road route in northern Baja.

This tour starts (and finishes) in Los Angeles, United States and travels down through Southern California past San Diego and across the Mexico border, before running past Tijuana and turning right into the beautiful and safe peninsula of Baja California.

This tour is a large mix of paved roads and off-road gravel and light-sand, the conditions of which are challenging and require experienced riding skills, and pillion riders are not available.

Much of the tour is the famous Baja 1000 route, displaying that this tour is off the beaten track and fits into the true adventure motorcycling bracket, although each evening is spent in very nice standard 3-4 star hotels.

Polaris drives this tour in the northern hemisphere winter in order that European and U.S. riders can enjoy a break from the winter cold and can enjoy the beauty of Baja and some Vitamin D from the amazing weather while undertaking this very special tour.

Day 1 is the arrival day, and all participants are invited to check-in to the group hotel, whereupon at an agreed time we'll then introduce each participant to their respective motorcycle and get the respective motorcycle and luggage acquaintance completed (if needed).

Later that evening we'll meet as a group to head to one of Los Angeles premier restaurants for a complimentary meet/greet meal and to get some time to know each other ahead of the tour.

Day 2 - Long Beach to Julian

Day 2 we'll head out for the first day of the tour and we'll ride the paved back roads of Southern California and discover the best-kept secrets of Los Angeles and then San Diego County.

We'll enjoy some epic twisting tarmac on this route down and in the late-afternoon we stage the group close to the Mexican border in anticipation of a smooth crossing in Tecate, and we stay that evening in the historical and very quaint former gold-town of Julian.

Day 3 - Julian to San Felipe - Mexico

Day 3 sees us leave Julian and cross the Mexico border together, before passing Tijuana and heading into the open country of Mexico on beautiful and scenic paved roads.

Later that afternoon we arrive on the shores of the Sea of Cortez shores at the town of San Felipe, and where we stay for the evening and with the opportunity to explore the town for dinner and drinks.

Day 4 - San Felipe to Bahia de Los Angeles

Day 4 and the tour rides along the Sea of Cortez on both paved and unpaved roads.

We stop by the iconic location of Coco's Corner for a cooling drink and some lunch along the day, before enjoying some of Baja California's desert trails.

That evening we stay in the beautiful sleepy fishing village of Bahia de Los Angeles on the shores of the Sea of Cortez.

Day 5 - Rest Day in Bahia de Los Angeles

Day 5 is spent in this beautiful area and town, and the group can either spend the day relaxing and sunbathing and drinking in the sun, visiting the town to shop for trinkets or to enjoy the local wine and food, or there's an opportunity to visit the 16th century Mission San Bora.

Day 6 - Bahia de Los Angeles to Cataviña

Day 6 and the tour features some of the best paved riding of the region through breathtaking mile after mile of desert landscapes.

That afternoon we arrive into the stunning area and town of Cataviña where our hotel is located, and where exploring this magnificent area is highly recommended.

Day 7 - Cataviña to San Quintín

Day 7 is another day for great riding on a mixture of paved and unpaved roads with some amazing and challenging terrain and breathtaking environments that are found nowhere else on earth.

That evening we arrive into San Quintín, where the group has the opportunity (optional extra) to visit the Sea Lion Caves and to take a beach ride.

Day 8 - San Quintín to Coyote Cal's

Day 8 and we ride directly along and adjacent to the Pacific Ocean, and on part beach and part road routes.

That afternoon and evening we stay at the region-famous Coyote Cal's on the Pacific Ocean.

Day 9 - Coyote Cal's to Mikes Sky Ranch

Day 9 sees us travel from one rustic and unique destination to another, and we change the ocean views for the open desert landscape as we ride a mixture of dirt, sand, and paved roads to the region-famous Mike's Sky Ranch where we stay the evening.

Day 10 - Mike's Sky Ranch to Los Angeles

Day 10 and we head north on the last of the amazing Baja California roads of Mexico before we hit the Mexico/U.S. border and complete the crossing back into the United States.

Our ride back to Los Angeles finishes back at the original hotel where we unpack the bikes and get a final rest from the saddle.

That evening we head out for the final time as a group to enjoy a complimentary dinner together where we share memories and laughter about the week's life-changing experiences and the friendships that we've made together.
